Forged in Steel delivers repair and maintenance works for Seaworld’s Jet Rescue ride. We are tasked to inspect the tracks, particularly the high-stress areas in the lift hills and drops, and check the welds on handrails, stairs, and catwalks for cracks to ensure the safety of the guests. The surfaces that need repair undergo control preparation through either magnetic particle testing (MT) and liquid penetrant testing (PT). MT is a kind of non-destructive testing (NDT) conducted to locate surface or subsurface cracks on ferromagnetic materials. Meanwhile, PT is another type of NDT that is used to expose damages to the surface of solid and nonporous materials. These discontinuities and other impurities are ground out of the area before the joints are welded between seams, transitioning smoothly to the base metal.
